A warm welcome from Dr Gabrielle Pitfield PhD, MSc (Developmental Psychology), CPsychol, MBPsS
I am a Chartered Psychologist, passionate about caring for the mental well-being of adults within a nurturing and empowering therapeutic online environment.
My aim is to help you overcome the struggles you are experiencing whether it is the impact of illness, anxiety, depression, grief, childhood trauma, low self-esteem, feeling sad, feelings of personal failure & issues with identity.
-
Do you feel overwhelmed or powerless, questioning yourself, your relationships, or your future?
-
Are you struggling to live with the impact of a chronic illness?
-
Are you finding it hard to cope with a recent diagnosis, treatment, or recovery process?
-
Do you often feel weighed down by negative thoughts or memories from past experiences?
-
Do challenges in your personal life, relationships, or work sometimes feel as though they define who you are?
Life often presents us with unexpected challenges that can feel upsetting, confusing, and even unfair. The challenges can relate to past unresolved trauma as well as current obstacles.
At times, coping with these difficulties may seem overwhelming and leave us feeling isolated and vulnerable. The uncertainty of how we see the future can shake our sense of stability and normality.
The ripple effects of these challenges can strain our relationships with family, friends, and – most importantly – ourselves. They can also influence how we see ourselves in a world that feels constantly in flux.
Over the past two years, my own experience with cancer treatment led me also to explore the powerful connection between mind and body.
I came to see how our thoughts, beliefs -both conscious and unconscious – and even the emotions we express or suppress can profoundly influence our physical health, for better or worse.
This insight, and its natural harmony with narrative therapy, inspired me to pursue a Diploma (Distinction) in Neuro Psycho Immunology, which has strengthened my belief in the healing potential of this approach.
By integrating this perspective into my work, I hope to support those living with chronic illness or navigating life-changing events, such as cancer.
Even amid uncertainty, we hold the power to reauthor our story and reclaim our sense of identity.
Adopting a ‘strengths-based’ perspective whilst embracing narrative therapy principles, allows us to explore ways together to find Your Voice – and discover the best version of yourself.
Together we can discover new hopeful ways forward – paths that feel positive, meaningful, and empowering.
Please explore the website, learn more about narrative therapy and my values, and get in touch with me to discover how I can help with appointments in person or online.
I look forward to hearing from you.
